I'M NEW

Thank you for checking out our church! Toccoa First United Methodist Church is a loving fellowship of people who treasure Christ above all and want to help others do the same. Whether you are a life-long resident of Toccoa or you're new to the area, you are always welcome at Toccoa First! We offer in-person and online contemporary and traditional worship every Sunday, and we offer several different Bible studies throughout the week. Below you will find some other information to help you plan your first visit with us:

What to Expect - Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

We are located right in the heart of Toccoa, GA at 333 E. Tugalo St. The main church property lies between E. Tugalo St. and E. Savannah St. Our office is located on the corner of E. Tugalo and Walnut streets, and our youth building is across from the main building on Short St.

Where do I park?

The main parking lot is across from the back of the church on E. Savannah St. There is a senior lot on the corner of Short St. and E. Savannah St. and an accessible lot between the two buildings. Parking is also available at the youth building, in the small lot next to Cheek Hall, and along Short St. and E. Savannah St. If you are visiting the office, there is a small lot on Walnut St. on the same side of the road as the office. If those spaces are full, please use one of the other church lots.

What service should I attend?

We offer two different services every Sunday. No matter what service you attend, we hope that you will feel welcomed and experience the love of Jesus Christ.

If you prefer a more modern worship experience (praise band, contemporary music, etc.), our contemporary service, the Alternative, meets at 8:30 AM in Cheek Hall.

If you prefer a more traditional worship experience (organ, hymns, choir, bells, traditional liturgy, etc.), our traditional worship service meets at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary.

If you are unable to join us in person, both of our services are live-streamed on our church Facebook page and YouTube channel

How long do the services last?

Each service lasts about an hour, sometimes going over or under that time by a few minutes.

What should I wear?

There is no set dress-code for worship. Some people wear their "Sunday best" and others wear jeans. Wear what makes you comfortable!

What if I have accessibility needs (wheelchair, walker, difficulty with stairs, etc.)?

All of our buildings are wheelchair accessible. For those with accessibility needs, the best entrances to use are located under the portico between the buildings. There is an elevator in the main building for anyone who may need to go upstairs for Sunday School, etc. We also have a designated parking lot between the two building for those with accessibility needs.

Where will my children go during worship?

Here at Toccoa First, we believe in worshipping as a family. We have a nursery available for babies and toddlers, but most children remain with their families during worship services, though they are welcome to join children their own age during Sunday School.

Do you offer Sunday School?

Yes. We offer several different classes for children and adults each Sunday at 9:45 AM. To learn more about our Sunday School classes, click here
