Wednesday Programs and Other Small Group Studies
For Winter 2010

Afternoon Bible Study

4:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Chris Freshour will continue to lead this class. This will be a Max Lucado study entitled "Come Thirsty". This class is for those who desire an earlier time slot.


Children's Choir and Handbells

4:30-5:30 p.m. in the Choir Room

Kindergarten through 2nd grade will meet at 5:00 p.m. in the Choir Room (upstairs) for Choir practice. Third grade through fifth grade will meet at 5:30 p.m.  for handbell practice. Children can eat with their families after practice ends.

Dinner

5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Cheek Hall

Don't worry about preparing supper, just bring yourself and your family and enjoy some great fellowship, eat some delicious food prepared by Just Right Catering, learn about information in the church, and hear a brief devotion every Wednesday. Salad and baked potatoes are available weekly. Cost is $6.00 per adult and $3.00 per child ($18.00 maximum for a family). Call the church office to register (or cancel) by Tuesdays at noon.



JAM (Jesus & Me)

6:30-7:30 p.m. in the McNeely Hall



For ages kindergarten through 5th grade. Join the fun as these kids grow in relationship with Jesus Christ through Bible Stories, Scripture memory, singing, worship, service projects and crafts.



Barefoot Youth Small Groups

6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Cheek Hall


For junior and senior high school students. Meet in the Cheek Fellowship Hall and then break up for small group study, fellowship and prayer.

 

Disciple Bible Study

6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Room 215

This study is an in depth way to become disciples of Christ through Bible Study. It is a 34 week study requiring at least 3 hours of independent study and preparation each week. The class will run 2 ˝ hours each week as well. Beware that this study will change your life and your approach to serving Christ on a daily basis. Tom says that Disciple Bible Study is the best study he has ever led or studied. Won’t you join us!!!! Pastor Tom will facilitate.

 

Common Ground

6:30p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Room 217

What all Christians believe and why it matters. This study will leave you more certain of the essential truths of the Christian faith – and more in love with the awesome God who stands behind it. Jeremy McClain will lead this study. There will be no book required. There will be handouts in class.

 

Becoming a Contagious Christian

6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Room 213

An evangelism course designed to equip believers for effective evangelism by showing how to share the gospel in a natural and powerful way while being the person God made them to be. Bill Hyndman will lead this class. A participant book will be required.

 

 

 

Love & Respect: The Love She Most Desires; The Respect He Desperately Needs

6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Room 205

This video series by Emerson Eggrich is broken down into 5 DVD's which can easily be covered in 8 -10 sessions. Learn why we negatively react to each other. How a Husband best motivates his wife. How a wife best motivates her husband. Practical applications. The ingredient that motivates us beyond our marriage. This study will be hosted by the Beaverdam Small Group (7couples).

 

 

Knitting/Prayer Shawl Class

 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Room 216

Nancy Hyndman is back to lead this popular class. A new ministry opportunity has arisen from this class to make prayer shawls for new mothers, the sick, the grieving, and others who may benefit from this awesome ministry. A great outreach tool. Come join us.

The Book of Ruth

This book tells of unbearable loss and redeeming love, giving us a glimpse into the hidden work of God during the worst of times.
