United Methodist Women (UMW)

The UMW of Toccoa First United Methodist Church enjoys learning about God through devotional times, Bible lessons and fellowship. They also participate in global ministries of the Church through prayer, giving, study, action, and service. There are three Circles that make up the Toccoa First UMW. Day Circle meets on the second Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m.

Dogwood Circle meets on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m.

Open Circle meets the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m.
Contact Vicki Carden 886-6605.


Bear Workshop meets the third Monday of each month at 10 a.m. to make stuffed bears to give to children who go th the Emergency Room or Outpatient Surgery at Stephens County Hospital. Bring a sandwich and have a great time of fellowship and fun.


United Methodist Men (Men's Fellowship)

The Men's Fellowship meets the second Sunday of each month in the McNeely Fellowship Hall from 7:30 to 8:30. Breakfast is prepared and served by Danny and Joyce Lockwood. A program is given on local or church interests.  This group sponsors the Boy Scouts and other special mission programs of the Church and community. Three fund raisers are conducted each year to support these projects. The Men's Fellowship also has two teams that prepare and serve meals at the Toccoa Soup Kitchen each month. For more information contact Jackie Whitmire 886-9543.


Older Adults

The Older Adult organization has programs of interest to older adults such as 55 Alive Driving course. They  also go on day trips and have sponsored church wide events such as a Sunday evening hymn singing. The Council meets the first Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. Contact

Friendship Club

The purpose of the Friendship Club is to give enjoyment and fellowship to anyone who wants to attend. Although the Club is sponsored by our Church, the membership is made up of many different denominations. They meet the 3rd Thursday of each month in the Cheek Hall at 11:00. For more information contact Kathy Whitmire at 706-886-9543.


Crusaders

First United Methodist Crusaders is an active group of 60+ seniors that meet monthly on the 2nd Tuesday. They get together at restaurants and other times gather at the church for a member cooked meal and good fellowship. Day trips are planned to places like Fernbank, Blue Willow for lunch, BMW plant, or even old Indian mounds close to home. Longer trips are taken to places like Myrtle Beach, Amish Country, Pigeon Forge, or Epworth by the Sea. The group enjoys christian fellowship, eating, and discovering the beauty around us that God has so generously blessed us with. We always have room for more members. For more information contact:

Boy Scouts Troop 77

Troup 77 is sponsored by the United Methodist Men's Fellowship. They have a well rounded program for boys ages 11 to 17 that includes training in physical, mental, civic, moral and spiritual values. They stress active participation, leadership training and advancement through the Scout program. Click on the above title for more information.


United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF)

The MYF group (for Middle and High School students) meets each Sunday at 5:30 in the Cheek Hall for a snack supper and fellowship. They worship together, hear from different speakers, participate in service projects and mission trips and enjoy fellowship together.

JAM (Jesus and Me)

JAM (Jesus and Me) sessions are for grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. Join the fun as these kids grow in relationship with Jesus Christ through singing, Bible stories, Small Group time, service projects, crafts and skits. JAM meets each Wednesday during the school year at 6:30 p.m. in the McNeely Hall.

Children's Choir

Children in grades K - 5 can participate in children's choirs which include a handchime choir for grades 3 - 5. The children rehearse each Wednesday in the choir room from 4:30 - 5:30. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the church office at 706-886-9446.

Chancel Choir & Handbell Choir

If you like to sing, please join us in the Chancel Choir for rehearsals in the choir room at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday nights.
