How To Join Toccoa First United Methodist Church

 

 

In order to be prepared for receiving members into the church, it is very helpful to coordinate your membership join date with the church office (706) 886-9446. However, the "doors of the church" are open every Sunday for those who would like to join, whether membership has been coordinated in advance. We warmly welcome you into the family at First United Methodist, in whatever way you may choose to join us. You can become a member of First United Methodist church in one of the following ways:

 

Confession of Faith is the initial entrance into membership in the church when a person confesses faith for the first time in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Reaffirmation of Faith is the renewing of an initial confession of faith after a period of inactivity or not being on a church membership roll.

Transfer of Membership may be from another United Methodist Church or a Christian church of another denomination. We recognize Baptism from all other Christian churches.

Affiliate Membership may be granted to a member of another United Methodist Church or affiliated autonomous Methodist church on request, when one must secure temporary residence for an extended period in a city or community at a distance from a member's home church.

Associate Membership may be granted to a member of another denomination who, under special circumstances, wishes to remain on home church roles, but would like an association with First United Methodist Church.
