Sheldon Lehman

“How good it is too sing (or play) praises to our God” – Ps. 147:1

In January of 2016,  Sheldon Lehman joined our statt as the new Director of Music Ministries.Sheldon has spent most of his life in Toccoa, attending both Stephens County High School and Toccoa Falls College. He has served as music director across several denominations since 1994, most recently with Trinity Lutheran. He has also played with the Toccoa Symphony Orchestra for over 25 years, where he serves as principal percussionist and pianist and participates on the symphony board. An active composer, he has written numerous pieces for violin/piano duets and also for choir, notably a full-length Christmas cantata comprised completely of original music. He is married to Kelly, who teaches and plays violin professionally and has one son, Jaron, who plays French horn and is a Music Ed major at UGA.

Sheldon directs our adult and youth choirs as well as the handbell choir. He also subs on keyboards in the praise band in the early service. “My goal in church music is to get others excited about praising God through singing or playing and communicating that to others, so that when they hear, they will not see us, but Him.”
